Read at least six books from a variety of categories between January 5th and March 14th to complete this challenge!
Registration for the 2026 challenge opens Monday, January 5th on the Library’s Beanstack site. Sign up for a Beanstack account and then register for the Winter Reading Challenge. New to Beanstack? Watch an overview.
There are several opportunities to win prizes. Pick up the 2026 Winter Reading mug just for registering, available while supplies last. Prize drawings are held in mid-January and mid-February for those who've read at least one and three books by those times, respectively. As you read, you will also earn tickets to enter into the grand prize drawings of your choice. Make sure to enter your tickets before the challenge ends. Super Readers who read at least eight books from the challenge prompts will be entered into a special prize drawing for a Kobo Clara BW eReader.
Read six books, one each from the following prompts:
A classic or a retelling/reimagining
A book in a genre outside of your comfort zone
A book someone recommended to you
A book you want to read that doesn’t fit another prompt
