The DeWitt District Library delivers library materials to those living in the library's service area who are physically unable to visit the library. Items are selected based on your interests and delivered once a month.

Who is eligible?
If you live in the library's service area and are physically unable to visit the library because of mobility issues due to illness, age, or disability, you are eligible. The library's service area includes the City of DeWitt, DeWitt Township, and Watertown Township outside of the Grand Ledge School District. You will need to first apply for a DeWitt District Library card if you do not already have one.
How much does it cost?
This service is free to those who qualify.
What can I check out?
Homebound delivery patrons can check out up to ten items each month including select books, books on CD, DVDs, music CDs, magazines, and mobile hotspots from the DeWitt District Library's collection.
When do deliveries take place?
Library staff or volunteers will deliver items to your door once a month at a prearranged time. We will give you a time slot during which you can expect your delivery. You must be at home to receive your delivery.
How long can I keep the items?
Items check out for four weeks. Staff will pick up your returns when they bring your next delivery the following month.
Can I keep items for longer than four weeks if needed?
Most library items can be renewed up to three times if someone else is not waiting for them. Any renewal requests must be made prior to your next delivery.
How can I request to participate?
Fill out the online application or print a paper form and deliver a completed copy to the library. If you would like us to mail you the form please call 517-669-3156. Please mail the completed paper form to:
