The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Reading to preschool-age children builds vocabulary, language, and helps prepare them with the skills they need for Kindergarten. In as little as 15 minutes a day, families can prepare their little ones for future school and life success!

Who can participate?
Pre-school age children (0-5 years old) with their family/caregivers.
How many of my kids can participate?
All of them, provided they have not yet started kindergarten. Make it even more fun and read as a family!
How do we track our reading?
Each time you read a book with your child, record it in your reading log
Show us your reading log:
Each time you and your child reach a reading milestone (see below) bring in your reading log and collect your reward
How long will it take to get to 1000 books?
Reaching the goal of 1000 books could take just a few months or a few years. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started).
