How It Works

Verify you're a library cardholder

  1. Click the View New York Times button below
  2. Enter your library card number and pin number then click the Log In button

Get a redemption code

  1. Click GET STARTED to access a redemption code for the NY Times 24-hour pass.
  2. Click Redeem.
  3. Create or login to a NYT Account
  4. Create a free NYT account using your email address. You can also sign in with your Facebook or Google login credentials. Once you've signed in, you will receive a message that your pass is valid along with an email confirmation. (Note: NYT accounts with active paid digital subscriptions will not be able to use the library's NYT pass.)

Use Your 24-hour pass

This pass will give you 24 hours of unlimited digital access to the New York Times and will work on any device where you've signed in to your NYT account, including the mobile app. When your pass expires, repeat the process to obtain another free pass. Passes are unlimited for DDL cardholders.

Access from a Library iPad (No Account Necessary)

The Library offers an iPad to access a variety of digital collection items, including the New York Times.  When using our iPad in the Library, you are able to access these services without creating an account.  Ask a staff member at the Library Service Desk for more information or to checkout this iPad.
