Donor Opportunities
Give the gift of lifelong learning. Donate to the DeWitt District Library.
Your donation will make it possible for the DeWitt District Library to help strengthen and develop our collections, new technologies, programs and services that would not otherwise be possible with our current levels of funding.
All donations are tax deductible.
Please contact the library at 517.669-3156 and ask to speak with our Director to discuss donation opportunities or send an email to director@dewittlibrary.org
Ways to Donate
Gifts of Cash
A gift of cash can be made by writing a check or using a credit card. It provides the Library with an immediate benefit and offers you a tax deduction for the full value. The Library will send you a thank you letter for the donation for your tax records. Checks should be made out to the DeWitt District Library. You can also contribute today via our Square account.
Memorial/Honorary Gift Fund
A gift may be made to the DeWitt District Library to remember a special person or to celebrate a special occasion. A letter acknowledging your gift will be sent to the honoree or to the family of the person being honored. If you chose, you may also restrict your gift in support of programming or to the purchase of Library materials. If unrestricted, the donation will be used at the discretion of the Library Director.

Volunteer & Volunteen Opportunities
Volunteers
Volunteers are welcome to help the library better serve the community. Under the supervision of library staff volunteers provide support and assistance with a variety of library tasks.
VolunTeens
VolunTeens are teens who are at least 14 years old and are willing to donate their time providing assistance with library tasks. VolunTeens are needed most during the annual Summer Reading program during the months of June, July, and August. Under the supervision of Library staff teens assist with craft preparation, program set-up/clean-up, distribution of Summer Reading prizes and incentives, and various other duties. For those looking for hours during the school year, please consider our At-Home Teen Service Hour Program.
We will accept applications for the 2025 Summer VolunTeen program in spring 2025.
If you have any questions about the VolunTeen Program, email our Teen Library Assistant Lori at lhutting@dewittlibrary.org.
